❤️dexter

the show has been around for decades lol, and i finally had the chance to watch.

i like this motif ngl. a law enforcement worker with a mindset of a serial killer, taking on killing other serial killers who hurt innocent people. like batman but more dramatic and bloody lol.

the show is good all the way up to the end of season 4, when rita morgan was murdered. ngl, season 4 is probably the most interesting and captivating season, but also the most devastating and painful one. rita being murdered with harrison being left in a pool of blood, like dexter when he was a kid back then, was so dreadful to watch.

season 5 was alright. the last 3? the worst. some of the details were still fine, but the killing and the villains became less intense. i got that the show was trying to build better characters' stories, but throwing hannah mckay into the story in the middle of nowhere, building the love line between the two while hannah definitely fit the code of killing of dexter was pretty hard to follow. also the fact that hannah was trying to kill debra and dexter still somehow chose to stand on hannah's side was also really fucked up.

i felt tired watching the final two seasons. as a normal human being watching a crappy season, i blamed the characters lol, but after watching consecutive shitty episodes with weird character development and twisted love lines, i had to blame the director and writer for building such a nonsensical storyline.

still the show is fantastic. the trinity killer and the ice truck killer were definitely creepy and followed me to my nightmares lol. angel batista is literally an angel in the office (not counting his love life lol). vince masuka is definitely a charm, and during the last 2 seasons, i counted on him to entertain me because the show was so shitty then.

this is just the beginning of the universe, and i'm thrilled and looking forward to the next show, which is dexter new blood!
